Flower pain conical, terminal or axillary, spreading, fruiting for up to 30 centimeters, bracts ovate, central green, margin transparent, hairless, bracts containing 2-4 white small flowers, perianth 5-lobed, uneven in size, fruiting with 3 enlarged and thickened outer rings, broad wings on the back, wings extending down to the nodes of the peduncle, stamens 8, shorter than the perianth, style 3, stigma head shaped, achenes 3-sided, black, glossy, enveloped in the persistent perianth.
