4. Harvesting and processing
Harvest 3-4 year old Suhexiang trees. From May to August of each year, the outer layers of bark and sapwood are cut off on the opposite sides of the trunk, the collected shavings are boiled in water, pressed and filtered with coarse cloth bags, the lotion of resin is filtered out, and then separated to remove water to obtain natural products. If natural agarwood is dissolved in 95% ethanol and filtered, insoluble substances are removed, and the alcohol filtrate is evaporated and concentrated to obtain refined agarwood.

Effects on the cardiovascular system: Oral administration of Suhexiang can improve the myocardial hypoxia tolerance in mice at normal pressure, significantly reduce the incidence of chloroform induced ventricular fibrillation in mice, and increase coronary flow. 10. Chemical composition
Suhexiang contains about 36% resin, while the rest is an oily liquid. Mainly containing terpenoid compounds, including volatile monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, and triterpenoid compounds such as oleanolic acid ketone and 3-epi oleanolic acid.
