The name Qiuxu refers to the state of emptiness in the spleen and soil under the influence of the wind and energy of the gallbladder meridian. The substance of this acupoint is the water dampness and wind energy that descends from the hanging bell acupoint. Under the blowing of the wind, the spleen soil in the acupoint becomes empty, with only skin and bones and no spleen soil (muscles), hence the name Qiuxu.

Guijing: belongs to the Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder Meridian. The original acupoint of the gallbladder meridian.
Positioning: Located in the anterior lower part of the ankle, at the lateral depression of the extensor digitorum longus tendon.

Function: Soothing tendons and activating collaterals, soothing liver and gallbladder, reducing swelling and relieving pain.
Indications: Neck pain, underarm swelling, chest and flank pain, lower limb flaccidity, external ankle swelling and pain, malaria, hernia, eye redness swelling and pain, eye growth membrane, stroke hemiplegia.
Clinical application
1: Qiuxu acupoint combined with Yinshi acupoint, Dadun acupoint, and Zhaohai acupoint is used to treat stroke hernia.
2: Qiuxu point, Kunlun point, and Juegu point are used to treat ankle, heel, and foot pain.
3: Qiuxu acupoint, combined with Ganshu acupoint, Danshu acupoint, Qimen acupoint, Yanglingquan acupoint, Riyue acupoint, and Wrist bone acupoint, is used to treat jaundice and biliary tract diseases.
4: Qiuxu acupoint combined with Zhongdu acupoint to treat hypochondriac pain.
