Shaochong name means that the qi and blood substances in this acupoint are expelled from the body. This acupoint is the junction of the surface meridians of the Heart Meridian and the internal meridians. The high-temperature water vapor from the internal meridians rushes out of the surface, hence the name Shaochong. This acupoint is the starting point of the Shaoyin Heart Meridian. Shaochong is the heart meridian well and the local pore. This acupoint is called the Heart Meridian Well because it has local pores that connect the internal and external meridians of the Heart Meridian, and qi and blood substances come out from the local boreholes. This acupoint belongs to wood and refers to the five element attributes exhibited by the changes in the circulation of qi, blood, and substances in this acupoint. The substance in this acupoint is the high-temperature water and humidity gas that flows out of the internal meridians of the Heart Meridian. Its movement is from the inside out and from the bottom up. Due to its high water and humidity content, although it is upward, the upward movement is not high, only the growth characteristics of wood, so it belongs to wood.

4: The combination of Shaochong Baihui and Shixuan acupoints has the effect of awakening the mind and opening the orifices, and is mainly used for treating stroke coma.
