01 Dahuang Chaihu Tang for treating tonsillitis
【 Formula 】 6-10 grams of raw rhubarb (later added), 6-9 grams each of soft Chaihu and light Huangqin, 10-15 grams each of honeysuckle, forsythia shell, and dandelion, and 10 grams each of Shegan and Xiacao.
【 Usage 】 Take 1 dose per day, decoct in water, and then fry the residue. Take 2-3 doses continuously. External use of throat moth powder to blow the throat twice a day
【 Effect 】 Clearing heat and detoxifying, promoting the circulation of organs and relieving heat. Used to treat acute suppurative tonsillitis, symptoms include sore throat, difficulty swallowing, fear of cold and fever or cold and heat exchange, dry stool, short and red urine, red tongue, white or yellow white tongue coating, and floating or smooth pulse.
Addition and subtraction: For those with high heat, add thin lotus leaves; For those with severe internal heat, add gypsum and Sichuan Huanglian; For those with severe heat toxicity, intramuscular injection of Silver Yellow Injection should be administered 2-4 milliliters each time, 1-2 times a day.
【 Verification 】 This formula was used to treat 52 cases of acute suppurative tonsillitis, with 46 cases cured, 4 cases improved, and 2 cases ineffective, with a total effective rate of 96.16%.
02 Borax realgar powder for treating tonsillitis
[Formula] 15 grams of borax, 3 grams each of Mingxiong Huang and cinnabar, 6 grams of red stone fat (9 grams used in summer and summer), 1.5 grams each of catechu and dried blood flowers, 0.4 grams of ice flakes, and 0.1 grams of mint cream.
【 Usage 】 First, grind the first 6 ingredients finely, then add ice cream and menthol cream, grind them into extremely fine flour, and put them into a bottle for later use. Blow and sprinkle the affected area 3-4 times a day.

【 Verification 】 317 patients were treated with Xiaozhong Zhitong San, including 160 cases of acute pharyngitis, 107 cases of acute tonsillitis, and 50 cases of gingival swelling and pain. 170 cases were treated for 2-4 days, 119 cases for 5-6 days, and 7-10 days. Treatment results: 240 cases were cured, 64 cases improved, and 13 cases were ineffective, with a total effective rate of 95.9%.
03 Qingyin Detoxification Decoction for Treating Fan Peach Body Inflammation
【 Formula 】 30g of gypsum and fresh reed roots, 9g of silkworm and gentian grass, 5g of peppermint, 20g of honeysuckle, 15g of forsythia suspensa and Isatis root, 10g of Anemarrhena, 12g of talc, and 1g of artificial bezoar.
【 Usage 】 Take 1 dose daily, decoct in water and take.
【 Effect 】 Clear and purify the upper burner, relieve heat and detoxify. Used to treat acute tonsillitis, symptoms include chills, fever, headache, difficulty swallowing, thirst, bad breath, and constipation. The tonsils are significantly red and swollen, with white pus spots on the surface, swollen submandibular lymph nodes, and smooth pulse.
【 Verification 】 Li, male, 52 years old. I have been suffering from tonsillitis for over 10 years, with recurrent episodes. Every month or so, acute attacks occur, especially in winter and spring. Each episode resulted in high fever, redness, swelling, and pain in the throat, as well as difficulty swallowing. Despite years of treatment, the root cause could not be removed. Now it has been 5 days, with a body temperature of 39.8 ℃, red and swollen throat, yellow and rough tongue coating, and large pulse count. The syndrome is characterized by a high concentration of lung heat pathogenic factors, which are prone to external infections, wind and heat, and can cause redness, swelling, and pain in the throat, making it difficult to swallow. 04 Xuanshenmaidong for treating tonsillitis
【 Formula 】 30 grams each of Xuanshen and Luoshiteng, 15 grams of Ophiopogon japonicus, 12 grams each of Bombyx mori, Chonglou, Paeonia lactiflora, and burdock root, 10 grams of Platycodon grandiflorus, and 5 grams of Sophora alopecuroides root.
【 Usage 】 Boil in water twice, take after meals, take 1 dose daily, and take 3 doses continuously.
【 Effect 】 Clearing heat and detoxifying, promoting diuresis and reducing swelling. Used to treat acute tonsillitis and pharyngitis, sore throat, difficulty swallowing, fever and headache, overall discomfort, red tongue texture, and yellow tongue coating.
Addition and subtraction: For those with suppurative tonsils, add cicada molt.
【 Verification 】 This formula was used to treat 39 cases of acute tonsillitis. After 3 days of medication, 28 cases were cured, 9 cases improved, and 2 cases were ineffective, with an effective rate of 94.9%.
Dandelion soup for treating tonsillitis
【 Formula 】 60g Dandelion, 30g Big Green Leaf, 24g Scutellaria baicalensis, 12g Danpi and Paeonia lactiflora, 6g Licorice
【 Usage 】 Take 1 dose daily, decoct in water, and divide into 3 doses. Severe cases can take 2 doses per day, divided into 6 doses.

【 Indications 】 Acute suppurative tonsillitis.
【 Verification 】 This formula was used to treat 100 cases of acute suppurative tonsillitis. Treatment results: 89 cases were cured (fever subsided within 3 days, purulent discharge from tonsils disappeared, and pharyngeal congestion was mild), accounting for 89%; Improvement in 4 cases (fever subsided or decreased to low-grade fever within 3 days, local secretions significantly reduced, symptoms significantly alleviated), accounting for 4%; 7 cases were ineffective (with no decrease in body temperature for more than 3 days and no improvement in symptoms), accounting for 7%; The total effective rate is 93%.
06 Zhongbai Huang Tang for treating tonsillitis
[Formula] 12 grams of Bai in human body, 10 grams of Huang, Xuanshen, Ophiopogon japonicus, and Shengdi in human body, 30 grams of raw gypsum (first decoction), 6 grams of Ma Bo and Huangqin each, and 5 grams of peppermint (later lower).
【 Usage 】 Take 1 dose daily, decoct in water and take
【 Effect 】 Nourish yin and clear heat, detoxify and eliminate pus.
【 Indications 】 Acute suppurative tonsillitis.
[Verification] Wang, male, 30 years old. The onset lasts for 4 days, with initial symptoms of cold and fever, sore throat, and pain. Therefore, intramuscular injection of penicillin emulsion is recommended at a rate of 800000 units per day. Two days later, the fever increased, the body temperature rose by 39.5 ℃, sore throat worsened, white patchy membranes were seen on both tonsils, which could peel off, accompanied by headache, swollen lymph nodes under the collar, red tongue, yellow and rough moss, and a few pulse strings. Diagnosis is acute suppurative tonsillitis. Treat with our own formula, instruct the patient to wait for the decoction to cool down and take it slowly, and externally blow "Xili San". After 2 doses, the heat has subsided, the swelling and pain have greatly decreased, white rot has fallen off, and the submandibular lymph nodes have become smaller. Remove Huangling and Shigu from the original formula, add 30g of reed roots, 10g of dried kidney and red peony, and continue taking 3 doses to recover.
07 Banlangen and Campanula Decoction for Treating tonsillitis
【 Formula 】 45 grams of Radix Isatidis, 9 grams of Platycodon grandiflorus and 9 grams of Sophora flavescens roots, and 6 grams of raw licorice.
【 Usage 】 For mild cases, take one dose per day. Boil in water twice and mix the juice. Take twice in the morning and evening. For severe cases, take 1.5 doses per day using the same decoction method as above, divided into 3 doses.
【 Indications 】 tonsillitis.
Addition and subtraction: For those with high fever, add 30g of silver flowers; For constipated individuals, add 6 grams of raw rhubarb.
【 Verification 】 This formula was used to treat 76 patients with acute tonsillitis, of which 73 were cured and 3 were ineffective. Curers usually take 2-3 doses of medication.
08 Sanhuang Xuanshen Tang for treating tonsillitis
【 Formula 】 9g Huangqin, 3-5g Huanglian, 14g Dahuang, 15g Xuanshen, 10g Shengma, 6g Zhilicorice, 12g Shandougen.
[Usage] Boil in water, take 1 dose per day, take small amounts multiple times frequently
【 Effect 】 Clearing heat and detoxifying, clearing the heart and lowering blood pressure, clearing the throat and dispersing lumps.
【 Indications 】 Heat toxic acute tonsillitis in children
[Verification] Jiang, female, 4 years old. The primary laryngeal nucleus is enlarged to grade II, and the fever is severe at night for more than half a month. Previously treated with "penicillin" and other drugs, but the effect was unsatisfactory. Seeking treatment with traditional Chinese medicine. Symptoms: Fever, poor mental state, dry lips and tongue, red throat, throat nucleus as big as red dates, swallowing pain, red tongue with yellow coating, pulse count, no abnormalities in heart and lungs. The syndrome belongs to the wind heat toxin evil fighting throat nucleus. Treat to detoxify and reduce swelling. Add 10 grams of gardenia, 15 grams of gypsum, 12 grams of cordyceps, and 18 grams of white fescue to the basic formula. After taking three doses of medication, the fever subsided, the laryngeal swelling disappeared, and all symptoms resolved spontaneously.
09 Hualian Kikyo Powder
【 Formula 】 25 grams each of honeysuckle and forsythia suspensa, 30 grams each of Scrophularia suspensa and gypsum, 15 grams of mountain bean roots, 9 grams each of Coptis chinensis, burdock root, rhubarb, and Scutellaria baicalensis, and 10 grams each of Platycodon grandiflorum and licorice.
【 Usage 】 Take 1 dose daily, decoct in water, and take 3-4 times orally. Reduce the dosage for children accordingly. And bleed the earlobe a few drops once a day.
【 Indications 】 tonsillitis.
【 Verification 】 Using this formula to treat 100 cases of tonsillitis, after 1-2 days of medication, 95 cases were cured, 12 cases were effective, and 3 cases were ineffective, with a total effective rate of 97%.
