Gui Jing: Belonging to the Du meridian
Positioning: On the back, at the midline of the posterior spine, in the depression below the spinous process of the 9th thoracic vertebra. There are medial branches of the posterior branch of the ninth thoracic nerve and posterior branches of the ninth intercostal artery.
【 Indications and Functions 】
Effect: This acupoint is located on the back, between the two liver shu points. The liver controls the tendons, so it can treat muscle spasms, shortness of limbs, and stomach pain. This acupoint belongs to the Du meridian, which runs through the spine and connects to the human brain. Therefore, it can treat spinal cord weakness and epilepsy. It has the effects of calming the nerves, dispelling the wind, unblocking the meridians, and stopping spasms.
Indications: Strong and urgent spinal pain, lower back pain, stomach pain, epilepsy, convulsions, lower back neuralgia, gastric spasms, gastritis, hysteria.
Clinical Application
1: Paired with Yangling Spring and Xingjian, it can extinguish wind, stop spasms, unblock meridians and relieve pain. It is mainly used for treating muscle spasms, urgency, and limb immobility.
2: Paired with Da Dun and Zu San Li, it can soothe the liver, regulate qi, harmonize the stomach and relieve pain, and treat stomach pain.
3: The combination of Qu Gu, Yin Gu, and Xing can help to reduce phlegm and dispel wind, and is mainly used for treating epilepsy.
4: The supporting role Sun point and Chumai point are used to treat children's convulsion, epilepsy, tetanus and hyperkeratosis.
5: The water channel acupoint is used to treat strong spine.
