The top leaves are nearly the entire margin, with a shiny yellow green color on top, hairless or sparsely white soft hairs, especially dense on the veins. Flowers are unisexual, dioecious, with male inflorescences spike like and axillary, often 2-4 flowers clustered at the base, apical flowers often solitary, female inflorescences spike like and flowers often solitary. Capsule with 3 wings. Two seeds per chamber, surrounded by winged membrane material, slightly rectangular in shape, about twice the length and width.

Born on slopes, forest edges, or shrubs at an altitude of 300-2000 meters. Distributed in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia and other places.
