1. Moxibustion can tonify the kidney and ignite the fire, leading to a return to the original essence
Tonifying kidney fire is similar to increasing the quality of yang energy in the lower part to enhance its ability to counteract the yang energy in the upper part. When the kidney yang is abundant, it can also form its own gravitational advantage, causing the upper yang to automatically sink and accumulate for its own use, which is called "igniting fire and returning to the element".
Some people may worry that if they are already on fire, using moxibustion will only add fuel to the fire. No need at all. Because this type of fire is called virtual fire, and the essence of virtual fire is yang deficiency and body coldness, with insufficient kidney yang. Moxibustion is very targeted, and Yongquan acupoint can be frequently treated with moxibustion.
The kidney originates from the gushing spring, and the person who is gushing from the spring also has the foot and heart. If the gushing spring acupoint is warm, the human body will be filled with yang from the genital position, and the yang energy will be sufficient, the gravitational force will increase, and the upper yang will be drawn down and return to its source. So moxibustion with gushing springs can often make people feel a mouthful of sweet saliva, which is a good sign for the rise of fire and water, and the interaction between the upper and lower parts.
Before moxibustion on Yongquan, you can first moxibustion on the central epigastric region, Guan Yuan, and Qi Sea, allowing the Qi to flow downwards. Then, you can moxibustion on Zusanli and Sanyinjiao to supplement the Spleen Meridian and replenish the Yang Qi below.

In addition, when your body is cold, you need to sweat. Therefore, to solve the problem of upper body heat and lower body heat, you need to sweat, defecate, urinate, and warm the lower body.
If you want to sweat, it's best to jog or brisk walk for about 45 minutes until your legs and feet are warm and your whole body is slightly sweaty to achieve your goal. If bowel movements are not favorable, moxibustion can be applied to the Tian Shu, Da Chang Yu, and Pi Yu to promote bowel movements.
In addition to moxibustion, warming the lower burner can also be achieved by soaking your feet in water boiled with mugwort before going to bed, until slightly sweaty.
