Origin: This species is a specialty of China and was raised in Nanyuan, Beijing during the Qing Dynasty. It is not wild and was later transported to England, where it became extinct. Feed on grass and aquatic plants. The horns are changed twice a year. The summer horns grow from June to July and fall off from November to December. Afterwards, a pair of winter horns are produced and fall off after March of the following year. The size is similar to that of European red deer, with a body length of about 2 meters and a height of over 1 meter. The male weighs about 200kg and the female weighs about 100kg. The tail length is about 70cm. The head resembles a horse instead of a horse, the horns resemble a deer instead of a deer, the body resembles a donkey instead of a donkey, and the hooves resemble a cow instead of a cow, hence the name "Four Elephants". Males have horns, females have none.
