What are the patterns of motor development in infants and young children?
The development of children's movements follows a certain pattern, from top to bottom:
Can look up when lying prone for 2 months;
At 3 months, the supine position can be transformed into a lateral position;
Can sit with hip support for 4 months;
Can stand under the armpit after 5 months;
Can turn over in 6 months;
I will climb in 7 months;
I will be sitting alone for 8 months;
Can support the station in 9 months;
10 to 11 months to be able to stand on their own;
I will leave in 12 months.
Children can first lift their heads and sit on their backs, and then turn over, climb, stand, walk, and run. From uncoordinated to coordinated, newborn movements are irregular and uncoordinated.
At 3 months, I only know how to touch things with my hands;
Will push toys in 4-5 months;
After 5 months, eye and hand movements begin to become more coordinated.
From rough to fine:
At 5 months old, grab an object with your palm;
At 9-10 months, small objects can be pinched with the thumb and index finger;
I will be building blocks in 15 months.
Traditional Chinese Medicine has recorded the growth and development of children for a long time, such as in the Tang Dynasty's "Qian Jin Fang" by Sun Simiao: "On the sixtieth day after birth, the pupils are formed, which can cough, laugh, and harmonize with others; on the hundredth day, the meridians are formed, which can recur on their own; on the hundredth and eightieth day, the bones of the palms are formed, which can crawl; on the hundredth day, the bones of the bones are formed, which can become independent; on the thirtieth day, the bones of the knees are formed, which can work." Folk proverbs summarize the motor development of infants as follows:
Two lifts, four flips, six sits, seven rolls, eight crawls, and walks. The developmental standards recorded in ancient Chinese medicine are consistent with the growth and development of children mentioned above.
