The emperor said, 'What is it that someone who is already old and has children?' Qi Bo said, 'This is because their heavenly lifespan is excessive, their qi veins are constantly flowing, and their kidney qi is surplus. Although they have children, men are only at the age of 88, and women are only at the age of 77, and the essence and qi of heaven and earth are exhausted. The emperor said,' Those who are virtuous in their husbands are all hundreds of years old, how can they have children? 'Qi Bo said,' Those who are virtuous in their husbands are old and full of form, and although they are old in their bodies, they can still have children. '- "Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon, Su Wen, Ancient Innocent Theory Chapter 1"
As mentioned earlier, the Chong (pulse) and Ren (pulse) of women were also mentioned. Chen Ziming said in "The Complete Collection of Women's Prescriptions": "Chong is a sea of blood, allowing the mother to conceive. When the two pulses flow, the moon welcomes them and they go down at the right time." The rise and fall of the Chong and Ren meridians here are both two of the Eight Extraordinary Meridians. The rise and fall of its two meridians are crucial for women's menstrual cycle, vaginal discharge, pregnancy, and childbirth. Menstruation is menstruation, vaginal discharge is vaginal discharge, pregnancy is pregnancy, and childbirth is childbirth. These physiological and pathological conditions are of utmost importance. Therefore, various gynecological diseases are caused by problems with the Chong and Ren meridians.
Zhang Xichun was a medical expert in the Republic of China, and he has a book called "Medical Zhong Zhong Shen Xi Lu". If you have time, you can take a good look. There are many personal experiences of Zhang Xichun recorded here, which are very effective. Zhang Xichun has some decoctions in his book "Medical Zhong Zhong Shen Xi Lu", such as Lizhong Tang, Lichong Tang, Anchong Tang, Guchong Tang, and Wenchong Tang, which are all used to treat women's conditions such as amenorrhea, heavy menstrual flow, infertility, and collapse. They are formulated based on this theory.
As mentioned earlier, "The kidneys are responsible for regulating water and storing the essence of the five organs and six viscera. Therefore, when the five organs are abundant, they can release the essence." This passage illustrates several important functions of the kidneys throughout the entire life process, the first of which is that the kidneys are responsible for regulating the storage of essence. The kidney is the dominant factor in the changes of human reproductive function and physical appearance, and this is the first one. The second one explains the relationship between the kidneys and the five organs and six viscera. What is the relationship? It is a mutually beneficial relationship between heaven and earth. The kidney is the essence of the innate essence, the foundation of the five organs and six viscera, and the function of the acquired organs. At the same time, it requires the cultivation and nurturing of the five organs and six viscera, as well as the biochemical and acquired essence, in order to have an inexhaustible source. Therefore, the Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon says: "Nowadays, all five organs have declined, the muscles and bones have collapsed, and the heavenly and earthly realms have been exhausted." What does this mean? If the acquired functions of the organs decline, the kidneys cannot receive the essence of the acquired organs, that is to say, they cannot "receive and store the essence of the five organs and six viscera". This situation indicates the interdependence and mutual use between the kidneys and the five organs and six viscera.
It is of great guiding significance for clinical syndrome differentiation. In clinical practice, we will find that the deficiency of the kidney's "essence storage" function is accompanied by what? Both are accompanied by spleen deficiency, and generally speaking, both the spleen and kidney organs are deficient at the same time. Why? Because of kidney deficiency, why deficiency? Because the day after tomorrow is not good. The source of qi and blood biochemistry, after this ability declines, the function of biochemical essence and qi will continue to decline, and the kidneys will have no essence to store, resulting in kidney qi deficiency and decline. So, in clinical practice, we will find many patients with impaired sperm and kidney deficiency who also have spleen deficiency. So what do I usually do when treating patients with impaired sperm and kidney deficiency? We first use medicines like Sijunzi Tang, along with tangerine peel and sand kernels, to open up the patient's acquired spleen and stomach, so that their acquired spleen and stomach function can be strong, and they can digest and absorb the water, grain, essence, and micro nutrients, transforming them into qi and blood, and turning them into essence and qi.
After this function becomes powerful, we can then supplement his innate kidney by using herbs such as Rehmannia glutinosa, Cornus officinalis, Yam, etc., such as Eucommia ulmoides. In this way, only after the spleen and stomach are healed can the innate kidney be replenished. Therefore, traditional Chinese medicine treats diseases in a hierarchical, methodological, and phased manner. Generally speaking, this deficiency is caused by innate kidney qi deficiency, followed by acquired spleen and stomach deficiency. This is the process. When restoring him, we first replenish his acquired spleen and stomach, and then replenish his innate essence and qi. It requires a process to slowly nourish his body. This is what we have experienced in clinical practice. This is the second function of the kidneys, which is to complement the five organs and six viscera.
The third is that "the essence of the five zang organs can be purgative". This "purgative" can be understood as the concept of the essence of kidney purgative reproduction. As Zhang Jiebin noted, "the essence of the five zang organs and six fu organs are all hidden in the kidney, so the essence of the five zang organs and six fu organs can be purgative." Because the essence of kidney purgative is cultivated by the essence of the five zang organs and six fu organs, this essence is that too much purgative, the essence of the five zang organs and six fu organs will be empty, and this person will age quickly. This is based on the thinking, logic, understanding, and observation of the ancient Chinese text "Huangdi Neijing".
What is the principle of health preservation in ancient China? That is' it is advisable to guard it with caution ', what should we guard against? To observe sexual behavior means to exercise restraint in sexual activity. If sexual activity is too excessive, indulgence and sexual fatigue can harm the kidneys. So excessive sexual activity can harm both the acquired and innate essence. Because the essence of the five zang organs and six fu organs is stored in the kidney, if the essence in the kidney often flows out, the essence of the five zang organs and six fu organs will also be insufficient. When we see people with kidney deficiency, they not only experience lower back pain and memory decline, but also weakness and fatigue in their legs. At the same time, what will happen to them? The symptom of spleen deficiency, which means that one does not like to eat, is called "na dai" in traditional Chinese medicine, which means that one does not eat well and does not like to eat. Without appetite, the qi of the spleen and stomach becomes weaker and weaker. Once the qi of the spleen and stomach weakens, the muscles lose strength, the body becomes lazy, and there is no spirit. This is spleen deficiency. Furthermore, lung qi deficiency may occur. What are the manifestations of lung qi deficiency? Weak and weak, often panting and gasping for breath during activities, easily catching a cold or flu when exposed to the cold outside, and weakened immunity. What are all these? This is all due to insufficient lung qi.
What is liver qi deficiency? Two eyes are dim, another one is dry and lifeless, and the other one has a bad temper, often angry, anxious, and depressed. At the same time, when the liver is fatigued, this person is particularly prone to fatigue. You will find that people with liver qi deficiency and hepatitis have what symptoms? It is very easy to fatigue, which is due to liver qi deficiency. What is the most typical manifestation of heart qi deficiency? As soon as I went upstairs, I gasped for breath, felt palpitations, and couldn't even sleep. My mind was restless, all of which were due to heart qi deficiency and heart blood deficiency. We have found that many patients with this type of sperm injury also have weakness in other organs. What does this mean? The essence of the kidney is the foundation of the five organs and six viscera, and cannot be excessively consumed or expelled. If too much is expelled, the five organs and six viscera will decline accordingly. This is some of our understanding after studying this passage.
