In the Middle Ages, there were those who possessed the highest level of virtue and integrity, were harmonious with yin and yang, were in harmony with the four seasons, passed away from secular life, accumulated essence and became fully divine, traveled between heaven and earth, and had a wide range of visual and auditory senses. This benefited their lifespan, and the strong also belonged to the real people. "- Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon, Su Wen, Ancient Innocence Theory, Part 1
In the Middle Ages, there were those who were the most virtuous and virtuous, who were in harmony with yin and yang, who were in harmony with the four seasons. They passed away and left the secular world, accumulating essence and becoming fully divine, traveling between heaven and earth, with a wide range of visual and auditory senses. This benefited their lifespan, and the strong also belonged to the real people
There are several key words in this paragraph that need to be explained. The first one is' Zhi Ren ', what does' Zhi Ren' mean? What does the interpretation of 'Zhi Ren' in Zhuangzi mean by 'not deviating from truth, called Zhi Ren'? What can a person with cultivation close to that of a 'real person' do? 'Maintaining purity and authenticity, with a long destiny' refers to people with 'high moral standards'. The' morality 'referred to by ancient people not only refers to the current moral qualities. The ancient concept of "morality" has a profound meaning. This "Dao" refers to the laws of nature, that is, the laws of the universe. The ancients called it the Great Dao, also known as the Heavenly Dao. What does' De 'mean? To follow the Tao is called virtue, and all actions and behaviors conform to natural laws. Such a person is called a virtuous person. The so-called "morally advanced" refers to a person whose behavior, actions, and thoughts conform to the natural laws of the universe. Such a person is called a "morally advanced" person. So, 'not deviating from the truth, called the ultimate person' means that 'the ultimate person' and 'the real person' are close to each other, and they are both in line with the natural path of heaven and earth.
The second keyword is called 'beyond audio-visual accessibility', so what does' accessibility 'refer to? Beyond Bada ", this" da "is interpreted as far away, meaning extremely far away. 'Beyond Bada' refers to the concept of visual and auditory intelligence, connectivity in all directions, and the ability to reach beyond eight directions. What does' eight directions' refer to? Four directions refer to east, west, south, and north. Eight directions, plus southeast, northeast, southwest, and northwest, come together to form exactly eight directions. The explanation for this passage is that in the medieval era, there was a kind of "supreme human", which was close to the realm of "real people". Their hearts were simple and in harmony with the Tao. Harmony with Yin and Yang "refers to the principle of being able to observe the changes in Yin and Yang in the universe and human body, and to harmonize and be consistent with them. Adjusting to the four seasons "is in line with the climate evolution laws of the four seasons - spring, summer, autumn, and winter. 'Departing from secular life' refers to a person's spiritual state being extraordinary and otherworldly. The phrase 'accumulating essence and fully immersing oneself in the world' often appears in Taoist, traditional Chinese medicine, and health preservation books. Accumulation of essence "refers to the accumulation of essence, qi, and spirit. 'Full God' is to keep your God safe, not overflowing or overflowing. So 'accumulating essence and fully immersing oneself', 'essence' refers to 'form down', refers to form, and this' god 'is' metaphysical', referring to the spiritual state, that is, his form is very preserved, and his spirit is also very full. Such a person travels between heaven and earth. His spirit wanders between heaven and earth, and his vision and hearing are called "sight and hearing". He can reach the farthest corners of the world, and such a person can prolong his life and maintain his physical form. "This benefits his life and makes him strong. Extending lifespan, maintaining a strong physique, and being extremely robust, such individuals "also belong to the real world" and achieve results similar to those of "real people", referring to the Middle Ages. The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon often mentions some words, and we should pay attention to one that is "Dao". Here comes the phrase "Chun De Quan Dao", which refers to the meaning of honesty, integrity, and preservation. This person's behavior, actions, and thoughts conform to the laws of the universe, nature, and the human body. Its specific method is to "harmonize with yin and yang, adjust to the four seasons, die and leave the secular world, accumulate essence and concentrate the whole spirit", coordinating with the four seasons of yin and yang, spring is born and summer is long, autumn is harvested and winter is stored, this is the change of the four seasons. What about Yin and Yang? Yang is active, Yin is calm, Yang is rising, and Yin is falling. The rise, fall, sinking, and floating of the body's qi also conform to the laws of yin and yang.
We all know that the Book of Changes is a multiplication of two in one's life, four in four, and eight in four. So one is called Tai Chi, which means' easy to have Tai Chi, it is the birth of two principles', and the two principles refer to yin and yang. Yin and Yang are further divided into Shaoyin, Shaoyang, Taiyin, and Sun. Shaoyin, Shaoyang, Taiyin, and Sun are divided into four images. Multiplying the four images by two gives the Eight Trigrams - Qian, Kan, Gen, Zhen, Xun, Li, Kun, and Dui. The Bagua further divides into 64 hexagrams, which is a principle in the Book of Changes. Tai Chi, Yin Yang, and the Four Seasons are all natural laws. 'Zhi Ren' and 'Ren Ren' are in line with the laws of nature.
So we know that the Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon always emphasizes that your behavior, speech, language, and thoughts must conform to natural laws. What are natural laws? One is the way of heaven, and the other is virtue. Behavior that conforms to the laws of nature must also correspond to yin and yang, and correspond to the four seasons. At the same time, your mentality is very good, which is called 'passing away from the secular world, accumulating essence and whole spirit'. In fact, your state is' tranquility and emptiness, from which true qi comes'. What happens to this person once they become 'calm and empty'? He will not be particularly attached to worldly things, such as these mundane objects, nor will he be particularly anxious, angry, or depressed. Without these states of mind, there is no such thing as anxiety, anger, depression, irritability, and various consumption anxieties. Without these states, his spirit is easy to gather. Do we know what consumes people's spirits the most? It's anxiety, it's fear. The ancients said that joy, anger, worry, thought, sadness, fear, and shock are the seven emotions that consume a person's spirit. After the essence and spirit are preserved, the person is called "Guizhen", which means returning to the original and healthiest state of the body.
His state of 'marching between heaven and earth' does not mean that this person is like a deity, flying back and forth between heaven and earth. It refers to the spiritual resonance and interaction with nature, achieving this state of 'unity between heaven and man'. So he has a wide range of visual and auditory abilities, with extremely distant vision and sharp ears, which means his lifespan is extended and his body is strong, thus also belonging to the state of a "real person".
