In fact, the deeper truth is closely related to the body, or to its essence, qi, and spirit. If one can cultivate their spirit and energy, they will become more and more abundant, and their body and career will become more and more smooth. If you don't know how to take care of yourself, you will become increasingly weak, your body will deteriorate, and your career will decline.
So, I would like to remind everyone that the Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon is not just a medical book. In modern terms, the Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon is even a successful study. Teach you how to succeed, teach you how to cultivate yin and yang qi to achieve a very healthy state of the body, and then help you succeed. What are the necessary conditions for success? You must have the ability to think deeply. Whether it's running a business or making decisions, such as developing new products or even going public for a company, complex decisions and arrangements need to be made. It takes energy and physical strength to enter this state, otherwise it's impossible to do it. So I am here to advise all listeners and friends to take good care of their bodies, pay attention to rest, and be mindful of storage and retrieval.
Pay attention to rest and sleep quality. If the quality of sleep is poor, it is advisable to adjust it in a timely manner, adjust the timing, or use traditional Chinese medicine to balance the body's five organs and ensure good sleep. If there are children at home or in school, parents should also listen carefully: children's sleep and rest are sometimes more important than their studies. Because during sleep, the body needs to grow and the brain needs to be repaired, especially after the brain is repaired, the child's energy can be abundant in class the next day, and they can follow the teacher's rhythm well into learning. This is actually twice the result with half the effort, consuming less energy and physical strength. "Good steel needs to be used on the blade", and academic performance will also improve. Because this is how I learned when I was young. When other classmates stayed up late, I didn't. I went to bed no later than 10 o'clock and woke up at 6 o'clock the next morning. I can't even pull up a single pull, I can barely do three to five push ups, and I can only do ten or eight sit ups in a minute. My physical strength is very poor and my vitality is very weak. What is the reason? I don't exercise during the day and don't rest well at night. This is a young person who actively consumes his yang energy.
After reaching middle age, I also realized the importance of the body and knew that it was important to maintain good health and rest early. It's strange, I want to go to bed early at this time, but I can't sleep anymore. I toss and turn in bed, tossing and turning, but I can't sleep. This situation is what I just mentioned, where the Yin essence and Yin qi are insufficient, resulting in a decrease in the ability to collect. Sometimes in traditional Chinese medicine, it is diagnosed as kidney yin deficiency and excessive heart fire, which is called heart kidney dysfunction. Sometimes it is diagnosed as liver blood deficiency, where the liver does not hide the soul, and it is easy to have multiple dreams. Some people have too much liver fire, a strong taste when their mouth is open, and a bitter taste when they wake up in the morning. This is all liver fire. This situation needs to be adjusted through some prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine. After adjusting, replenishing the kidney yin, clearing the liver fire, and nourishing the liver qi, the sleep is good again. Once the sleep is good, it enters a good cycle and the sleep is sufficient. The next day, the mind is full. After a woman has slept well, her complexion is still good, her skin is tender and particularly tight, all of which are repaired by sleep, so that yin and yang can be coordinated. Ordinary people who have mastered the laws of nature and are able to apply them to their daily lives, and put them into practice very well, are called saints.
Traditionally, there are saints such as Laozi and Confucius. Why are they respected? It's because they have wisdom. Wise representatives are those who have mastered the laws of nature, have natural laws in their cognition, and have put these laws into practice and succeeded. This is the sage. After the coordination of yin and yang, it is called Shengdu, which is the method of health preservation by the sage's laws.
I have talked so much today, hoping that everyone can master the laws of yin and yang, as well as the laws of spring, summer, autumn, winter, and rest early. Just now we talked about a day and night, including spring, summer, autumn, and winter. In spring, we need to come out for activities, in summer we need to bask in the sun and sweat, in autumn we need to restrain ourselves, and in winter we need to hide and not sweat too much. But it doesn't mean you don't sweat, but rather don't sweat too much and don't exercise too much. This is a natural law of spring, summer, autumn, winter, and winter. I have also talked about it in my previous lecture on "The Great Theory of Four Qi Regulation", so I won't go into detail here. After conforming to natural laws, yin and yang can be coordinated. After coordination, the body can be healthy, which is the sage's method of health preservation.
