Article excerpt: "Traditional Chinese Medicine Ancient Methods for Infant and Child Health Preservation"
To determine whether bedwetting is a disease, generally speaking, it refers to the inability to control urination during nighttime sleep in children over the age of 3, with multiple episodes. This condition is called enuresis in children. Children aged 3 to 10 have a higher incidence of the disease. There are more boys than girls. Generally speaking, medical statistics show that boys are twice as frequent as girls. In addition, there is a clear family history of bias, and some children have a genetic relationship with their family.
Etiology of enuresis
Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that there are three reasons:
1. Insufficient kidney qi:
The kidney referred to in traditional Chinese medicine is not the kidney of Western medicine, but a complete set of organic and functional components including the urinary and reproductive systems. The kidneys belong to the category of water, and they are responsible for reproduction and secondary defecation. Whether it is defecation or urination, especially those with kidney qi deficiency and cold type, they are related to the kidneys because they have the ability to absorb and retain water, and have a good ability to evaporate and vaporize. This is the kidney.
The typical characteristics of kidney qi deficiency are pale complexion, sore waist, and even fear of coldness in the waist.
Dietary therapy formula:
Yam, water chestnut, and intelligence seed soup.
30g yam, 10g water chestnuts, 5g water chestnuts, 3 bowls. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for another 20 minutes. Drink half a bowl each time, preferably before 6pm in the afternoon.
It is suitable for traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations with insufficient kidney qi: Suoquan Pill.
2. Deficiency of lung and spleen qi:
From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, the lungs and kidneys are related. Why are they related? Because gold generates water, gold is the lungs, and the kidneys are water, it is called gold generates water. It is called the mutual generation of gold and water. If a person's lung qi is not solid, their ability to regulate water and fluid will decrease, and their ability to absorb and absorb water will also decrease. At the same time, the spleen and stomach are insufficient, and once the spleen cools down, the kidneys also cool down. This is spleen kidney yang deficiency, and these two conditions can easily cause enuresis.
In addition to enuresis, it is also accompanied by symptoms such as pale complexion, fatigue, lack of breath, laziness, and loss of appetite. The stool is also relatively loose and easy to catch a cold.
Dietary therapy formula:
Yam and water chestnut soup.
10 grams of yam, 10 grams of water chestnuts, 3 bowls of water, boil for 20 minutes, half a bowl each time, drink before 6 pm.
Traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations suitable for deficiency of lung and spleen qi is Buzhong Yiqi Pill.
3. Heart kidney failure:
Because the heart and kidneys are one fire and the other water, when the heart and kidneys are disconnected, the heart fire will be heavier. Children of this type are usually hyperactive during the day, unable to stop or calm down, and restless when sleeping at night.
Dietary therapy formula:
Lotus seed heart yam black plum Congee.
1 gram of lotus seed heart, 10 grams of yam, 5 grams of black plums, 10 grams of rock sugar, 3 bowls of water, boil for 20 minutes after boiling, and drink half a bowl each time. You can drink it continuously for a month, every day.
The method of applying external treatment patches to the navel:
Formula: 50g of Euryale, 50g of Psoralea, 30g of Raspberry, 30g of Schisandra, 30g of Cornus officinalis, 30g of Cuscuta, 30g of Cherry Blossoms, 30g of Lilac, and 30g of Cinnamon. After purchasing these, please entrust the pharmacy to grind them into fine powder, and most pharmacies have crushing equipment.
After crushing, put it in a plastic bag, take it home, juice the ginger, mix it with medicinal powder, and it becomes a paste like dough. Then put it on the navel. Cover it with gauze outside, then stick it on with adhesive tape. Apply it before going to bed at night and peel it off when you wake up in the morning. This has a good therapeutic effect.
Prevention
It is best to develop a habit of autonomous urination from a young age.
2. Don't let your child get too tired during the day.
3. Two hours before bedtime at night, do not drink too much soup or eat fruits with high water content, such as watermelon.
Adjustment and protection
1. Do not beat or scold. Some parents may use rough methods to stop their children from doing this, which may have short-term effects, but in the long run, the child's psychology will be affected by shadows and have side effects.
2. Seek timely treatment. After all, enuresis is a disease with a relatively long course of illness, and it may take about half a month to treat.
